SMALL APP. WIDE AWAKE.

A little presence. A lot less dozing.

Right there in your menu bar, ready when you need it. Choose a duration, decide whether the display stays on, and get back to your thing.

On your time.

15 or 30 minutes, 1 or 2 hours. Or your own hours and minutes, from 1 minute to 23h 59m.

No deadline? No problem.

Choose an indefinite session and end it when you’re ready.

Screen on. Or lights out.

Keep the display awake too, or let it turn off while your Mac stays awake.

A VERY SMALL SLEEP EXPERIMENT

Just five more minutes. Famous last words.

Slide through a pretend session. The longer it goes, the more our little night owl has to show for it.

Visual demo only. This website does not change your computer’s sleep settings.

READY TO PRETENDINTERACTIVE
02:00remaining

Ready when you are.

A 2-hour session, at your own pace.

FOR THE “ALMOST DONE” MOMENTS

Let the task finish. Then call it a night.

01

The long export.

Keep idle sleep out of the way while your Mac works through that last render.

02

The open recipe.

Keep the screen on while your hands are busy elsewhere. Floury trackpads are overrated.

03

The one-more-thing.

Reading, presenting, or keeping an eye on a process. You decide when it’s time to rest.

AWAY MODE · OPTIONAL

You step away. It sticks around.

Enable Away mode and choose how long you can be idle before a session starts. Set its duration and display preference separately.

Set the threshold shorter than macOS’s idle sleep delay. Not Yet cannot wake an already sleeping Mac.

  1. Set your pause.

Choose an idle threshold from 1 to 30 minutes in Settings → Away mode.

  2. Let it take over.

One session starts per absence. Your manual sessions always take priority.

  3. Welcome back.

Your return ends only the automatic session. No endless restarts while you’re away.

YOUR MAC. YOUR BUSINESS.

Wide awake. Not watching.

No account, ads, telemetry or cloud. Your preferences stay on your Mac. Away mode checks only how long you’ve been idle — never what you type, click or look at.

GOOD QUESTIONS. AWAKE ANSWERS.

A few things before you don’t go.

Can I choose a custom duration?

Yes. Choose Custom duration and set hours and minutes, from 1 minute to 23 hours and 59 minutes. Presets are 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours. There’s also an indefinite option.

Does the screen have to stay on?

No. Enable Keep the display on if you want it lit. Turn it off to allow the display to rest while the Mac stays awake. Duration and display changes during a session apply to the next session.

How does Away mode work?

It is off by default. When enabled, it checks idle time about every 2 seconds and starts one session after your chosen threshold. Returning ends the automatic session; manual sessions have priority. Expiring or stopping does not start another session during the same absence.

How do I end a session?

Open Not Yet in the menu bar and choose End session. Timed sessions expire automatically. Quitting the app or putting your Mac to sleep also ends the session. Reopening the app never restores an old session.

What about closing the lid or choosing Sleep?

Not Yet prevents idle sleep only. It does not override manual sleep, lid closure, shutdown, restart or the system’s power decisions. Locking your screen does not end the session in this version.

Can it open at login? What languages are available?

Launch at login is optional in Settings → General and is managed by macOS. English is the default app language, with Brazilian Portuguese selectable in Settings → General → Language.

Which Macs can use it?

The project targets macOS 13 Ventura or later, with an Apple Silicon and Intel build. Final release compatibility testing is still in progress.
